Hari Prasad Sah College (H.P.S. College), Nirmali, Bihar

The College was established in 1964 and affiliated to the Bhagalpur university at first on 30th of April, 1965.

After that when the L.N. Mithila University came into existence, it became a constituent unit of that university on 23rd of October, 1980.

Since the day of establishment of B. N. Mandal University, Madhepura on 10th of January, 1992, the college has been a constituent unit of university up to now.

The college witnessed the historical advent of honorable late Prime minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee who laid the foundation stone of koshi Rail Mahasetu at college campus and declared to include Maithili to be recognized as official language in the Eighth Schedule of Indian constitution on 6th of June, 2003.To commemorate this historical foundation event of Koshi Mahasetu 'Sapt Koshi' monument was built at college campus.

On memory of Late Hari Prasad Sah, former Panchayati Raj Minister of Bihar Government, the college is named as Hari Prasad Sah College from Nirmali College by decision of B.N.Mandal University and Bihar Government.
